Sex education is necessary and needful for everybody irrespective of age. As children grow into adolescence, they become more unpredictable and willing to experiment. It is this desire to experiment that makes sex education important.
Sex education that is relevant and provides the right knowledge can help prevent or at least reduce the number of teenage pregnancy cases and other such complications. It has been observed that children, who are well-informed about the male and female anatomy, are better aware of the possible complications that may occur.
Sex education changes a child’s attitude i.e. it affects it positively. Each of the sexes becomes more tolerant of the other’s behaviour pattern as well as options. A child, who is sexuality oriented, will learn to believe in the quality of women and men, parental responsibilities and the sacrament of marriage.
With a well accepted level of sex education, a child can reduce the level of unwanted pregnancy and spread of STDs. The notion that children out rightly experiment with sex when told about it, is wrong. It is important for the parent or elderly to guide the child about the use of contraception and other methods of avoiding complications along with teaching about the human anatomy. Children are likely to misinterpret sex education as a permission to experiment with sex if they are uneducated and exposed to pornographic materials and unprotected sex.

Syllabise sex education in the school curriculum. It is important to make sex education as natural as possible. Syllabising sex education in the school may need to be implemented at the level of government and privatised schools. The syllabus must be carefully knitted including all the aspects of sex education for youth.
Risky behaviours, such as forced sex, indulging in pornography, physical abuse, etc may lead to early pregnancy. Therefore, building awareness about these must be made a part of the syllabus.
Schools and colleges should hold discussions and debates about the important of sex education.
If you are a parent willing to impart sex education to your child, all you have to do is be open to all of their questions and answer them without hesitation. Do not put your child’s questions off.
